Marriage

The Catholic Church teaches that marriage between two baptized individuals is a sacrament. In the Old Testament, prophets saw the marriage between a man and a woman as a symbol of the covenant between God and His people and the Church attaches great importance to Jesus' presence at the wedding at Cana. The permanent union between a husband and a wife mirrors the commitment between God and His people. Holy matrimony establishes a lifelong partnership between the spouses that will be a fruitful sign of Christ's presence.

The Archdiocese requires a minimum eight-month preparation period before the wedding. Please contact the parish office as soon as you can after getting engaged to make an appointment.
